Chris Faulkner is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Breitling Energy Corporation (BECC), an oil and natural gas company based in Dallas, Texas. With diverse and extensive experience in all aspects of the oil and gas industry in North America, Europe and the Middle East, Mr. Faulkner was named Industry Leader of the Year in 2013 by the Oil & Gas Awards for the Southwest Region, Oil Executive of the Year in 2013 by the American Energy Research Group, and recognized in the “Dallas Who’s Who in Energy” in 2012 and 2013. Breitling received the 2013 Aggreko Award for Excellence in Environmental Stewardship from the Oil & Gas Awards for the Gulf Coast Region, was named 2013 E&P Company of the Year by the Oil & Gas Awards for the Southwest Region, “Best North American Operator” by World Finance Magazine in 2011, 2012 and 2013, and to the “Dallas 100 List” in 2013, ranking fourth among the top 100 companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Jeremy Wagers joined Breitling as Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel in December 2012 and was appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer in December of 2013. Prior to joining Breitling, Mr. Wagers was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Triangle Petroleum Corporation. From 2002 through 2005, he practiced law as a corporate finance and M&A attorney with Vinson & Elkins, LLP, in Houston, Texas and from 2005 through 2011, he practiced law as a corporate finance and M&A attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Wagers earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Economics (summa cum laude) from Baylor University and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law with Honors. In private practice, His practice concentrated on securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance and compliance.
David Kovacs joined the Breitling Energy management team in November 2014 as Executive Vice President of Strategic Development. Mr. Kovacs specializes in investment banking, private equity and venture capital and has extensive experience in both mature and emerging markets, having analyzed hundreds of deals and executed both buy and sell-side engagements.
Mr. Kovacs completed his Bachelor of Science in Economics & Finance from The College of Staten Island, City University of New York, where he completed his four-year academic requirements at 18 years of age. He also attended Columbia University for undergraduate studies.
Joe Simo has 38 years of experience generating, evaluating and drilling oil and gas prospects. In 1986, Mr. Simo was responsible for generating some of the first horizontal drilling ventures in the Pearsall and Giddings Austin Chalk Fields. Mr Simo. has managed more than 675 wells in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Michigan, Arkansas, Wyoming, the Gulf of Mexico and on the North Island of New Zealand.
Mr. Simo is a 37 year member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and 20 year member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Mr. Simo has a B.S. in Geology with a minor in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
