Breitling Oil and Gas Afternoon Podcast #259 3-25-13

WE will need oil and gas for the foreseeable future. So there’s
really little choice as we have to press ahead with fracking
for natural gas. We must approve the Keystone XL pipeline to
get Canadian oil. Renewbles will not be ready for prime time
for I would guess within the next 50 years. I would caution
that a rapid expansion of renewable power now would be
complicated and costly. Using large amounts of renewable
energy often requires modifying national power grids, and
renewable energy is still generally more expensive than using
fossil fuels. That is particularly true here where natural gas is
plentiful and a cheap way to generate power (while producing
half the carbon dioxide emissions.
