Breitling Oil and Gas Evening Podcast #36 March 1st, 2012

For Oil and gas today, here is Chris Faulkner with Breitling Oil and Gas: People continue to tell me Hydraulic fracturing squanders our precious water resources. There is no question that hydraulic fracturing uses a lot of water, it could take upto 7 million gallons to frag a single well and atleast 30% of the water is lost forever, after being trapped deep in the shelf, for example the amount of water required to drill all 2900 16th Marcellus wells permitted in Pennsylvania first 11 months of 2010 would equal the amount of drinking water used by just one city Pittsburgh during the same period.Let’s get the withdrawals more context of the 9.1 billion gallons of water used daily in Pensylvania, natural gas development consumes only 1.9 million gallons a day, live stock uses 62 million, mining 96 million and industry 770 million. We are hardly squandering anything.
