On this episode of Powering America, Breitling Energy CEO Chris Faulkner is away addressing the Manchester Fracking Conference in England. Parker Hallam, President of Crude Energy has a brief explanations of what fracking is and what elements are sent down the well bore. Most are similar to household chemicals found in your home.

In the second segment, Bill Palanuk, our Bakken Reporter, discusses how new technologies are expected to allow producers in the Bakken to extract more oil from the formation.  Currently only about 7 percent of the potential oil is being recovered.  New technologies may increase this to as much as 25 percent.

In the third segment, Dr. Michael Stroup, Professor of Economics, discusses the factors comprising what a United States Energy Policy might look like.  In light of deteriorating infrastructure, the bottom line is it would cost more to consumers.  He also discusses the economic balancing act the country faces with so much liquidity in the system versus possible inflation in the future.

To finish the show, Parker and Thomas discuss the Permian Basin and how to invest in Crude Energy’s working interests and royalty interests.
